"Jahvon's charity is dedicated to improving the lives of those in need. We aim to create positive change in our community through one-year Martial Arts Scholarships. J-Edo Fund empowers individuals to effect lasting change.
"The number of young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET) in the United Kingdom was 794,000 in the second quarter of 2023, compared with 770,000 in the previous quarter."
Our logo symbolizes 'J' for Jahvon, and 'Edo' refers to the historically stable and peaceful period in Japan's premodern history known as the Tokugawa Period, also called the Edo Period. This era was named after the city in which the shōgun had his capital, now known as Tokyo."
"This charity is established in honour of my late son, Jahvon, who passed away at the age of 28. Jahvon's dedication to the Fu Jau Academy Martial Arts and his profound love and passion for East Asia culminated in his remarkable achievement of becoming the 2021 WAKO K1 Kickboxing British Champion.
Japan's Kazuyoshi Ishii organized the first K-1 Grand Prix at the Yoyogi Dai-Ichi Stadium in Tokyo on April 30, 1993. Ishii said that he chose the "K" element since it was the first letter in the names of karate, kickboxing, kung fu, kempo, and many other combative arts.
Today WAKO counts of 130 affiliated nations in the 5 continents, of which 105 are officially recognized by either National Olympic Committee or relevant National Government Sports Authority.
In tribute to Jahvon, we are committed to undertaking both individual and collective sports challenges to raise funds. His legacy inspires us to continue making a positive impact."
"Hello, my name is Sheryl, mother to Jahvon and founder of J-Edo. Initially, we organized a walk in honour of Jahvon's 30th birthday on 30-04-2023 at the iconic Seven Sisters in Seaford. This evolved into a sponsored walk to raise funds for a 1-year scholarship for a Year 11 student, sparking the inspiration to continue our efforts.
I've always been in awe of Jahvon's martial arts journey. As a young boy, he was reserved in public, yet with close family, he revealed a chatty and funny side. Jahvon's energy was contagious; he was spontaneous and loved setting challenges, often encouraging us to join in, his favourite trying the hottest chillies. Despite my initial concerns as a mother when he started secondary school, where martial arts became an attempt to build self-confidence, my worries faded away. He settled quickly, formed lasting friendships that endured up to and beyond his 'Celebration of Life' ceremony.
Jahvon's absence is felt every day, and J-Edo stands as a legacy, representing how he was always there for others, supporting them to be their best version.
Jahvon, I love you, Mumma x"
"We believe that being a Martial Artist is not just learning to kick and punch, it is about becoming the best that we can be in every way. Osu."
